Millbrook

Millbrook is owned by David and Jane Thomas, Millbrook is situated just a short North-West drive from Toowoomba at Biddeston.

It is a 100acre property that has been developed into a Thoroughbred Farm. The farm consists of 10 larger paddocks, 8 one acre spelling paddock’s, three foaling yards. All paddocks and yards on farm are separated by laneways. We have ensured each paddock has good natural shade in summer.

Millbrook has designed its stables with natural airflow in mind, each box is rubber lined and has panoramic views, separate let out yards for yearling have been designed near buy.

David’s History

David grew up on a Cattle, Sheep and Horse Property near Tambo, Queensland. He spent his younger years as a Jackaroo in the Kimberley’s Western Australia and in NSW on well know sheep studs Uardry and Egelabra.

David has had over 20 years’ experience in the Thoroughbred Industry, Some of that time was working at Woodlands Stud in The Hunter Valley where he had the opportunity to work with Stallions Grand Lodge, Canny lad, Quest for fame, Octagonal and Night Shift. He also had the responsibility of managing mares at Woodlands such as English Wonder, Shadea, Antwerp, Pride of Tahnee, Lees Bid and All Grace.

David then went on to Manage Highgrove and during his time David assisted the owner in the development of his new establishment in fencing , Stable and vet crush design and all day to day operations of the farm. This Stud was able achieve the highest averages in yearlings sales in 2001.

David then went on to manage Markham Stud where he was responsible for the turnaround of this farm into the commercial farm it once was. During that time he assisted with the mating’s of mares, some of the results being Bonza Crop and Black Prince.

It was time then to create his own farm Millbrook.
